After looking at single videos I thought that it would be a good idea to look at a few videos by the same band to see whether there was a recognisable pattern of shots used and from what I expected there was. Like the majority of other videos of this genre they used a large number of close up shots on the lead to make it clear who was the centre of the the entire video. The number of shots of the lead is significantly proportional to how much they are in control of the video. Most leads are the ones who get the most attention in terms of shots because they are the lead and are therefore the face of the video. I also found that some of the videos by the Arctic Monkeys are black and white which seems to be a common theme within the indie genre, therefore I may experiment with our footage once we get it and question whether black and white is an option.
