Over the last couple of weeks I have been busy creating our storyboard for the music video. Through which I have encountered some issues along the way. The major issue being the choreography that makes up our narrative story line. As I myself have no knowledge of dance or choreography I have had to make it up as I went along and have seeked advice from our colleges head of dance to look over my ideas and point me in the right direction. After emailing back and forth with our dance teacher Faye, she has helped me to sort out the choreography problems and has helped appoint our two dancers which I will talk about in another post after we have rehearsed with them.
Another problem I faced was what to do during the bridge of our song, through researching videos of dancing I came across two videos which Molly has touched on in another post. Through looking at these videos and our electronic type bridge I thought it would be a good idea to link it all together.
So, for our bridging scenes I thought we could use a coloured sheet in front of the camera and have either finger puppets of frogs, to link with the E.T video clip, or to have some abstract dance in the background to try and link to the electronic sound of the bridge.
Below, is a music video for Kasabian's "eez-eh." Throughout they have shots including obscure object and props. I thought, as well as including the E.T inspired shots we could use obscure props like Kasabian did to add further to the abstractness of our video.
Although the video below seems to be portraying what looks like an abusive relationship some of the lifts and moves I quite like and some of the embraces I may choose to incorporate into our video, thus meaning this video is also a form of inspiration,
Our storyboard is now almost complete after over coming the above obstacles and our animatic is now underway and should all be finished at the same kind of time. Although this has been a very stressful task for me to complete I feel it is very important and we help Molly and I work efficiently on the day of filming as we wont need to think of ideas on the spot and we will have something to follow.
The next task is for us to sort out the dates of our filming and get props sorted.
